And how can my mom take a terrific picture with just using a digital camera? How should I do my make up?
First, prepare your canvas! Thoroughly cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize before touching your makeup. Groom your eyebrows 鈥?either by yourself or go to a salon and have them threaded (if threading or waxing, try to go today so any redness will be gone tomorrow). A clean brow line will light up your eyes and frame your face. Just don鈥檛 go overboard. Keep it natural!
Find a good coverage foundation and match it carefully to our skin color. For the sake of photography, avoid any foundation with SPF. SPF will reflect the cameras light and make your skin pasty in the pictures. Many makeup lines have developed formulas specifically for high-definition photography. This is a good, albeit expensive and not totally necessary option. Just make sure to avoid SPF and any light reflecting, shimmery or 鈥榙ewy-look鈥?foundations.
Apply the foundation with a damp foundation sponge (dampening it will prevent the foundation from absorbing into the sponge) or a foundation brush. This will provide a more even coverage than using your fingers. Blend the foundation well along your jaw line and even blend down your neck. If imperfections or under eye circles remain visible, apply concealer (one shade lighter than foundation) lightly, using a concealor brush, then dabbing with your fingertip to blend. While you have out the concealor, apply a base of it all over your eyelid. This preps the lid for eye shadows.
Apply a matte powder all over to prevent shine and smudges.
Apply blush using a wide brush just below the apples of your cheek, blending carefully towards the edge of the apple. Use a natural or peach tone 鈥?this will come across much more healthy and natural in the photos than a pink tone does, and will imply cheekbones rather than frostbite!
Apply a light, neutral eye shadow all over your eyelid. Your base color can have some light shimmer tones, but avoid any glitter or sparkle. I promise, it never comes off well in photos. Then use a smaller shading brush and apply a darker color from the outside corner of your eye into your crease. Blend, blend, blend! If the color is too dark, apply a light coat of the base color over it, and blend some more. You can use any color shadows you want 鈥?blending is the key. However, since the photo is for Christmas pictures and not a glamour shot, I would keep the colors natural.
If you have black or dark brown hair, apply a thin line of black eyeliner right along the top lash line. If your hair is any blond, red or any lighter color, use a brown or light grey liner. Line the very outer edge of your bottom lashes. Use a brow pencil or brow powder to fill in any gaps in your brow. Keep this very light and natural. Curl lashes and finish with a coat or two of black mascara. Watch for clumps!
Use a slightly darker lipstick than you normally would, but stick to a color your comfortable with. Now is not the time to experiment with bright pink or bold reds if you are not used to them. Line your lip with a liner in the same shade as your lipstick or a neutral liner. This is very important 鈥?it will keep lipstick from fading or feathering and will create a more polished look. Stay right on your natural lip line 鈥?extending it looks very fake in photos.
For the photos themselves, make sure your mom uses a very high resolution setting. This will make any touch up work so much easier, and will make the final photo more professional looking and much sharper. If you are familiar with Photoshop, download a trial version for free to edit the photos yourself. There are a million tutorials on how to edit out blemishes, fix stray hairs, even fix that weird lump or bulge or that bug that landed on your shoulder during the perfect shot. It鈥檚 actually pretty easy to use, although there are some easier, if less adaptable photo editing tools out there. Just search around and find one you feel comfortable with!
Above all, look natural, feel comfortable and enjoy yourself. Any discomfort or awkwardness will come across in the final photo. Also, make sure your mom takes plenty of photos in various locations with various types of lighting. You want to have plenty of choices! How should I do my make up?

You want to look naturally pretty, not lke your wearing a lot of makeup right?
So your gonna wanna wash and moustrize your face. Then add foundation for glowing pretty skin. Then add some concelaer (if you have eye bags or pimples), if you dont, then dont apply it. After than, add somr brown natural mascara (not too much just wanna make your eyes sparkle! DONT CLUMP IT!!), pink gloss for a pretty, moustrized look, and a tab of natural blush. If you want eyeliner or eyeshadow, dont overdo it and make it look trahy. If ur doing eyeshadow, i recoomned a gold (if u have darker skin) or whiteish (if ur liter). For liner, make sure it looks natural and pretty. DOnt do it too thinck! Good Luck!
Use one of these eyeshadows: for green eyes: purple or gold or green
for brown eyes: pink or green or gold
for blue eyes: gold or purple or pink
For lipgloss, use a peachy natural shiny.
Light on the eyeliner- only do ur bottom under eye.
Black mascara
