How can you tell if your make-up is past it's expiry date?

your not supposed to use mascara if it's 6 months old or older, it can cause eye infections. Foundation, no longer than 4-6 months, depending on oil or oil free ingredients, because it's bad for your pores. Never heard about lipsticks, but NEVER share those with anyone! If you look like a clown, then it's probably old.
When it stops covering/coloring/defining/etc. satisfactorily, throw it out. The expiration dates vary for the type of makeup. I believe mascara has the shortest life of all.

I agree with Dudette's comment. If it smells funny chuck it out. Also if the consistency changes I would chuck it too....like if your mascara is dry or clumpy. I tend to just worry about the expiration date on the liquid based makeups more. Foundations, lipsticks, eyeliners too.





When in doubt chuck it out. :o)
