Is it bad to use make up that is expired?

i don't anymore, cuz i went to get some new stuff but will it like effect my skin at all. i leave make up in my drawer and never use it but then when my face breaks out its been like months sicne i bouth it and its close to its expiraion date. so is that bad? just curious.Is it bad to use make up that is expired?
Yes. Its very bad.


Mascara, pressed face powder, and foundation should definitely be changed once a month.

I actually do believe that it depends. Personally though I wouldn't use it if it became outdated because I would treat it like any other product I would get. Once it's old it's time for it to hit the trash. Not only because of the fact that the product has an expiration date for a reason but because I wouldn't want it to break out my skin or cause something else worse to happen.If your product smells bad or looks nasty just toss it!!
yes it is bad to use expired make up. you are only supposed to use mascara for three months and then replace it. if make up is expired that means there is bacteria in it that can cause you to break out and its just not healthy for your skin. you should replace your make up as often as needed.

anything that goes near your eyes, like mascara and liner should be discarded after 3 months, regardless of the expiration date





everything else is pretty much going to be okay, unless it looks discolored or smells bad

if it's eye make-up, yes as it will gather bacteria that can give you infections.

they didn't have expiration dates in the olden days and they were fine.
Well, im not 100 % sure. But, I know that it will probably harm your skin because expired make-up will have bacteria in it etc. :S

yeah. old makeup has bacteria in it, causing zits and infections. especially eye makeup.
Yes, they don't leave an expiration date for no reason. Lol. It could probably ruin your skin. Would you use expired shapoo, or eat expired chips? :)
