How do you become a MAC make-up artist?

A MAC,( or channel, clinque, ect), artist like the ones you see at the mall. I tried to apply at a MAC counter one day %26amp; they wanted my ressume? Im a twenty year old college drop out who has waited tables since I was 17. What are they looking for? Surely not a college diploma. ThanksHow do you become a MAC make-up artist?
well maybe some experience in make-up might help?


you have to be able to apply make-up on people that walk in and want their make up done, and you have to know what you are talking about to a certain extent or at least be good at doing make-up.


Maybe do a cert 2 in make-up?


And with clinique and estee lauder they have a fair bit of skin care so maybe knowing something about skin?How do you become a MAC make-up artist?
When they ask you for a resume they want all your experiences. Resumes don't nessicarily have to be filled with college credits and such, experience and hard work does show through...





But if you were Mac would you want to hire someone with no makeup experience that was unable to fill out a resume?
You need to have a decent portfolio, and then fill out an application..
take some makeup classes. cosmetology or whatever
